For my daughter it SUCKS OUT LOUD!


and I am talking about just the academic side. The social side is obviously awful - she is 14 and this is an important time in social development ... she is missing all of it.

Academically the teachers are likely doing the best they can but it isn't working. She thought she was understanding Algebra 2 but after two poor test scores I sat down with her one on one and spent 30 minutes explaining things to her. She got a 100% on her quiz Monday and thinks she aced the test she took yesterday. If she were in school, she could get that kind of one-on-one with the teacher. Same experience in Science as well - some concepts are difficult to pick up for some kids in a remote environment.

I believe that if they don't get back to in-person school soon it will cause irreparable damage to the futures of many of these kids. IMHO, the downsides to this school situation are FAR more problematic than any health issues if they were in school and the math supports that. .05% of kids would be impacted adversely by COVID but 100% of them are adversely impacted by remote learning. JMHO of course - everyone has different thoughts and I respect that. Rant over. I feel better ... off to play 9 holes.
