I know several players who are worried
since they committed so young and the rules now say the coach cannot speak to them as they are still in 10th grade. The new rule is good and will prevent this in the future but it's especially tough on the younger kids who are committed and in a zone of "radio-silence" so to speak since they committed when they could speak to the coaches but now they can't. The example in the article reflects poor communication and planning. This left this young lady out in the cold since once you commit you pretty much cut-off all schools, stop attending camps, and no longer write other schools expressing interest. Glad she was able to catch on somewhere else, this doesn't always happen.
