The article is bad form
What's to be gained by the article? Seems like sour grapes and no real benefit to publishing to me. I have coached girls in the past where unfortunately the same thing happened upon a new coach taking over a program. One of them was Radford in fact 3-4 years ago. It stinks but it is a real situation and part of the changes in a program when a new staff takes over. If the communication method was indeed only via email, that is not a great approach, but I am also not convinced that was the only communication (truth is usually somewhere in between). In terms of it impacting recruiting, I'd say that it is close to zero. Softball recruiting is done at the travel level not HS. Those in the travel ball circle knows this travel coach and he certainly won't be writing off VT over this. Lastly, why publish the fact you got a 70% offer in the article? No good reason other than self-serving and sour grapes in my opinion. I wish this young lady and her family good luck at BC and it will certainly be interesting when she plays against the team she just publicly bashed in print and social media.....
