Chesapeake
You sound like a good man, my wife is from Chesapeake (Indian River class of '89) by the way so that would explain it. LOL We have coached Abigail her whole life to respond to adversity. "Get to the next play!" No one in this world is gonna feel sorry for you when things don't go your way. Everything in life happens for a reason! It was not meant to be for our kid to be a Hokie. We have donated lots of Hokie gear to local thrift stores and friends who are Hokie fans. She may not know the reason today but one day it will be revealed. I appreciate your kind words. I should say not everything at VT was handled wrong, The former coach's at VT Scot Thomas, Amanda Tincher, and Justin Miller were awesome. I will never forget the day we went to Coach Thomas' office. We were expecting to get an offer that day. He said, "I know you guys came here today expecting an offer, you are not gonna get one today. I am not ready and I know even if I did you are not ready. However, don't commit anywhere without giving me a chance." That is the kind of man we wanted our kid playing for! Don't give us a line of crap, tell us the truth. On that same visit we watched Coach Beamer, a shining example of what a COACH should be, coach his final game at Lane Stadium against UNC! A memory our entire family will always treasure! Plus they fed us Carol Lee doughnuts! Good Lord I would have told her to commit for just that! I will never forget Coach Miller taking us to the memorial honoring the victims of the shooting. I wondered going there if they would even mention it. I think it was the first thing on Miller's tour! We were impressed that it was not something they tried to hide. It showed the courage, fortitude, and resolve of a school unlike any other we had seen! We had seen a bunch but this place was special, it was different in all the right ways! Like the banners said, it felt like home. I want everyone to know we hold no ill will towards VT. It is an incredible university! This will be it for me on this topic as well as this message board. It is my hope that people will see that my kid is not vindictive or mean spirited or out to get anyone or anybody. She is a competitor and the kind of kid you want by your side when you go to battle!
