Hard to tell but even though you say it is not crabgrass, it looks like


crabgrass I get here in Charlotte in a fescue lawn. You said it spreads fast, which is another characteristic of crabgrass. I'd suggest spraying with weed-be-gone that also kills crabgrass and seeing if it stops it. The problem is that it probably killed the fescue over which it spread.
