Not exactly true -- first possession was only 34%


I suppose the 3rd and 5th possessions would also be "scoring after the kickoff" -- in which case, you get to 60% for coin-toss winner.

But the first possession after kickoff, teams were only scoring @ 34% rate.

"The competition committee noted that starting in 1994, teams that won the overtime coin toss went on to win the game 59.8 percent of the time, 34.4 percent of the time on the first possession."
