Are you sure that is the case? If the NFL truly wanted the games over


more quickly, then it would not have willing taken the networks' money and allowed them to implement TV timeouts after the kickoff. If the NFL received enough money from the networks, then it probably would allow the networks to implement TV timeouts after each first down. Heck maybe even after each play.
