After 60 minutes, both teams proved to be even.


People seem to be saying that because ATL had the lead, they were required to win in 60 minutes. But because NE made a comeback, they didn't need to win in 60 minutes.

My contention is that it doesn't matter who made "bigger" plays, or when points were scored. After 60 minutes there's no difference between the two teams. OT wipes the slate clean.
