Honestly, if you're going to aerate, get the seed down prior to...


As the core aeration machine will act as a roller to ensure good seed to soil contact. Otherwise, if you seed after aeration, then it may benefit you to rent a roller to ensure good seed to soil contact. Also, peat moss is very effective to ensure adequate moisture in the seed bed.
