Is anyone EVER going to consider rotating divisions?

There are ways to play more ACC teams regularly without having to play an extra game. The problem with 9 games is it will make a 7 home game season VERY VERY rare, especially for schools like Clemson and FSU. Those are worth millions of extra dollars.

Let's just use any of a number of proposed methods to divvy up the divisions each season so that all rivalries can be played and teams like FSU and Clemson can come through Lane Stadium regularly. Even with an additional game, FSU and Clemson aren't going to visit Lane Stadium but every 6 seasons. That's not enough.

If I had my call, teams would be placed in divisions that randomly rotate every two years. And those 6 division games are the only ones that count in league standings. It's essentially a round robin to determine which teams play in the ACCCG. That is much more fare than what we have. There's none of this Miami playing FSU every year while Duke plays Wake. That's not a fair set up.

From there, rivalries like VT vs. UVA and VT vs. Miami could be played out of conference in seasons in which those teams are not matched up in the same division. Heck, with only 7 required conference games, teams like VT and Clemson could arrange to play regulerly OOC too. And again, all the money making schools could schedule profitable 7th home games.

And BTW, this MAY be a way to get ND into the league. If they came with a 16th, they could only have to agree to play their 7 division games. And I would have zippo problem with that. It would be competitively fair.
