Texas will veto a greater imbalance of predator vs prey mascots


Texas does not want to add Seawolves to the mix.

The Big 12 has already got Bears (Baylor), Wildcats (K State) and, I suppose, Horned Frogs (TCU).

As for prey, you've got only Longhorns and Jayhawks (KU).

Adding Seawolves would give the Big 12 predators a nearly insurmountable 4-2 advantage over prey.

For now, Texas has to rely on dudes with guns (i.e., Mountaineers, Cowboys and Red Raiders) to keep the peace while the Sooners try to go sweeping down the plains without being swept up by a Cyclone. Adding Seawolves would mean there would only be three dudes with guns to keep an eye on four predators, and that won't do.
