Each additional mph adds about a foot to the distance a ball will go...


A 90 mph fastball hit 390 feet to the left field alley gets out of most ballparks. Slow that pitch down to 60 mph and hit it the exact same way and it only goes 360 feet, which ain't leaving through the alley, unless it's over the Green Monster at Fenway.
