I took batting practice at the Ball Park in Arlington, Texas.

The Texas Rangers ran a home run contest in the 90s. There were about 100 contestants and you got 20 pitches. I'm a strong hitter and I made solid on contact on most of the pitches. The closest I came to hitting one out was two or three in deep center field. The center field wall is 400 feet. If I was more of a pull hitter, I think I could have gotten one out down the sidelines.

Of the 100 contestants only 2-3 people were able to jack one. I think the winner had 3.

That is probably a good sample. 2000 pitches, 100 people, less than 10 HRs.
