This feat is much tougher that most folks give credit for.

Bottom end exit velocity of baseball off a composite bat hit "on plane" with pitch off of sweet spot of barrel needs to be 80-85 mph at almost 45 degree elevation. This is to reach flight distance of about 350 feet.

Elevation of less than 45 degrees and required exit velocity of ball goes up dramatically. Move off sweet spot of barrel and required exit velocity also goes up dramatically.

This range of bat speed of 33"/30oz BBCOR bat translates roughly to hand speed of about 25mph at impact.

Not so easy for the casual player....
