Perhaps nothing. But if there
is no monetary gain for the ACC in an ACCN, then why would ESPN owe an an increased payment if there is no ACCN? Why would there be an ACC group negotiating a format for a network that makes money only for ESPN?
A copy of the ESPN/ACC contract would shed light on a lot of this, but then we'd lose the fun of speculating.
I do think it is unlikely that the contract varies significantly from the ESPN/conracts/aspects we've seen re: LHN (which does eventually switch over to a 70/30 arrangement with a guaranteed minimum), SECN, and the expiring B1G deals; and there isn't more to the arrangement than simply having something on ESPN with a title. And I think it is equally unlikely that payout to the ACC won't be linked to actual or projected carriage, as is the case with the other 3 conference networks.
