Maybe, but probably not in my lifetime
While there is an exodus to streaming, cable/satellite is far from dead or even dying. Also, remember who the major internet carriers are....mostly cable based entertainment companies.
Cable/satellite does and will continue to serves tens if not hundreds of millions of customers well into the foreseeable future. Will those numbers diminish? Sure they will, but they will be a very long time becoming the exception rather than the rule.
To me, that is one reason that the ACC was wise to position itself with such a strong digital network well prior to other leagues. Any type of hybrid that might come down the pike the ACC is far more ready for than most. I personally think one of the things that the B1G will concentrate on in their new 6 year agreement is the implementation of more and more digital, internet based broadcasts and making those more professional. If they do, they will be catching up to the ACC on that front, not passing them.
