Again, we often talk past each other, mixing topics

My point is conference stability from the perspective of media deals, not which conference makes the most per team or who has/where are the most die-hard fans. Those are different topics and they have different ramifications for VT.

From the perspective of ESPN, Fox, etc., they don't care about how many ways a conference wants to split the pie; they want to reach the most consumers to sell ad time.

More people watch the ACC than the Big 12. That isn't in dispute...the ratings numbers are there. More fans attend ACC football games than the Big 12. That isn't in dispute either. There are more consumers associated with the ACC than the Big 12, thus a dollar spent on the ACC by ESPN can potentially reach more people that advertisers are interested in than the Big 12. The ACC is the more valuable property of the two.

How many schools are involved or how revenues are shared is of no interest of concern to ESPN. Those are issues for the conference and its members...and different topics. This isn't about intensity, it's about volume. How many eyeballs are watching.
