This is a compelling case for a network IMO.

The numbers are quantified for distribution in the Northeast for basketball and in the Southeast for football. Either way, the ACC should get distribution in both areas due to strong viewership of the ACC basketball and football.

Then we worry about distribution in other regions not in the ACC footprint. But the ACC footprint is the largest, and Neilson shows that people watch.

I'm not as hung up on the Raycom thing because their rollout of the syndication has been signed up for nationwide. That data proves that there is demand for ACC games outside of the ACC footprint. Over 90% of the markets are paying for ACC content through Raycom. And Chad Swofford did a good job setting up the ACC Digital Network working with Silver Chalice. I'm not disappointed with that effort.

What is needed is more communication about what is going on in my opinion, and what the league wants to have happen. But after the bad experience when doing stuff too publicly in 2002 during expansion John Swofford doesn't like to do things out in the open anymore.
