If geography and money is important, then is there a possibility


that a third association forms? For example, the Southern schools that value academics and don't necessarily want to subscribe to the SEC's pro model forming their own association. An example could look like below.

UVA, maybe VT, Duke, UNC, NC State, Wake, GT, maybe Clemson, FSU, maybe Miami, maybe Notre Dame, Vandy, GA, and UF

The other thing I'm interested to see play out is what happens to all the other NCAA schools. Will these new "associations" allow them to join? Will they remain in the NCAA, join the NAIA, or form their own association? Will these new associations only be for specific sports or all sports? I do agree that the current status quo won't cut it any more and something has to give here. I'm not sure what that something or somethings is/are at this moment because there are too many moving parts to get a clear picture. Honestly, I'm not sure even the schools know what direction they want to go in at this juncture.
