None of that requires a HQ in DC

Leadership has to be there on a regular basis and grease the palms and kiss the ring of the ruling class, but that in no way requires a HQ there.

The most powerful and influential companies in the US are HQ'd in Silicon Valley, Omaha NE, Detroit, NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago and all over the country. They have offices in DC and their leadership spends time there, but having a HQ there is not necessary.
