I agree a presence in DC is needed, but having HQ there is not


You can have your HQ in DC and still not have a presence on the hill. If congress has decided it has nothing better to do than make college sports a bigger mess than it is (that is the only possible outcome of congress being involved), then the ACC needs to have a lobbying presence, not a management presence there.

That means K-street types, slimy swamp critters who know how to move money and influence around, not a bunch of good ol boys in a HQ office. The HQ in Charlotte or wherever is fine, but a lobbying arm in DC is going to be needed for sure.
