I was just commenting on the things that I have heard announcers saying about the particular player who was referenced (not by name). Those were things they actually said, not hypothetical things that they might have said about a field goal kicker, a slumping hitter, or a pitcher.

For the record, I'm not "an overly protective parent who only wants to hear how great their kid is either." I watch a lot of VT sports including a lot of softball. I don't even know the player. I see that all of our players have made mistakes, but I support them all. I haven't criticized anyone for stating the facts that they've brought to the table, even if I've felt that the audience here really doesn't care to hear it. I have, however, pointed out contrary evidence to some common misconceptions about the contributions to wins or losses. Read through them or not... agree with them or not... that's your business.

You seem fairly defensive that I've stated something contrary to your comment about announcers, and I'm sorry if you took my comment the wrong way. I really didn't mean to offend you. I was literally just sharing what the announcers are actually saying. So far, the announcers generally rave over this particular player and address errors within the context of the game and situation. I'll pay close attention to any comments they make in the BC series though. Maybe I've tuned out critical comments.
