I've tried to think through the pitch

and it just doesn't seem like it would be too hard to drag that pivot foot if that's all it takes. Question is does she get a substantial benefit from hopping? Does it load up the front leg when she comes down, ie, get more spring action? Be interesting to compare hop with non-hop pitches to see if there is an advantage.

On the side, got back into tennis a few years ago and have been watching you-tube videos to improve my game, 101 type stuff too, so I'm well aware of trying to transfer thinking through something with getting it to (mostly) muscle memory. I absolutely think it would be fixable by playoffs time. I do think it's messing with her head right now so that's another issue.
