when you see any college pitcher throw 125 pitches in a game this year. I doubt if you see it. The college rosters have 20 to 22 pitchers so they can limit pitches and save arms. If a college coach ever over works a pitcher and causes that pitcher to have Tommy John surgery and lose a lot of money on a pro contract, word will get out and no decent pitcher will ever go to that coach's team. The culture has changes since what you describe.
