Spill the beans.
There are so many questions. Why "without cause"? And as you know, we have a divided board. So for them to all agree, it has to be a big deal. So, back to the first question... If it was a big deal and truly fireable offense... Why not "with cause" and avoid paying him for the next 18 months?
Maybe it's temporarily without cause while it's investigated.... Then it may change to with cause if an investigation shows whatevrr he did turned out to be true?
Maybe it was a minor thing that still warented him leaving so they mutually agreed to the without cause part?
