The cart is now back behind the horse; once the NCAA updates or revises
the minimum standards for participation in what is now D1, which should start to take shape by August, then it will be appropriate to take another look at revising the CFP.
The current crisis to find a solution is an artificial one fueled by ESPN who wants exclusivity re: the CFP, and the SEC who is trying to leverage "G5" (and ND) interest in long term access to the CFP to free up more spots for SEC participation; there is in fact no real emergency situation that needs a decision right now.
