Maybe for the same reason. Personally, I have no problem with a true
football playoff even if it means scrapping the bowls. It works for the NCAA DI (aka FCS Playoffs), NCAA DII, NCAA DIII, NAIA DI, and NAIA DII. If FBS is going to commit to a true playoff, then I do believe that all 10 FBS conferences should receive 1 automatic bid so its conference champion can participate in it. Also, I believe every round except the championship game should be played at the higher seed's stadium to reduce travel cost for the fans. I have no problem with the national championship game being played at a neutral site because I think both fan bases should be equally represented at the game.
If the FBS isn't going to commit to that format for whatever reason, then go back to pre-BCA format and call it a day.
