Your analogy of Lakers vs Pistons isn't apt. The NBA is nothing like Div 1


of NCAA basketball. 250 of those 360 are not playing the same game as the rest. There are maybe 8 or 9 decent conferences. The rest of them can't compete and might as well be called 1A just like their football versions are (or were).

Is FSU good right now? Maryland? St. Johns? Penn St? Because those teams are just about as good as Syracuse and uva. And with Edwards out I would say it is *extremely* likely that they do NOT win most of the rest of their games. They'll probably win their next two. But they could easily lose their last 5. I would put some good cash on them not going .500 through those 7 games, if you like.

As for VT, they are struggling to be "good" and have certainly been good over the last 2 weeks. But they've also not played any really good teams. So they have beat who they've supposed to beat. Right now VT is favored in all the rest of their games. If they only lose one of them, then they will have demonstrated they are "good" and will be invited to the tournament. If they don't then they arguably aren't "good."
