You must not watch much basketball


UVA last night excepted, when a team shoots WAY worse/better than their mean 3-pt percentage in one half, their final percentage after the second half is almost always much closer to the mean. More samples doesn't begin to explain it; 'reverting to the mean' is a real thing in college basketball, even if it's not a thing in true stochastic systems.
