Big man has always been a problem at VT. Why not go smaller?

The priority is, and will always seems to be a 6'9" PF that can dominate the paint, but move like a SF. With the success of Mutts, I don't know why MY wouldn't be able to find someone to fill that position from the portal. Now whether or not there's a player like that in the portal is a different question, but showing how Mutts can have good success, particularly if he could take care of the ball better, is going to be a great recruiting tool if he leaves.

I also wonder, would you feel this pessimistic about next year had we beaten Miami last night and NCSt at home? 4-4, 12-7 seems a lot different, but in reality is 3 or 4 plays different. Same question goes for if these toss-up games go our way down the stretch, something 'clicks' or Maddux/Pedulla play more in crunch time and this team ends 8-12, 16-15 and in the NIT?

Again, why I don't like middle of the season debates. Really like to see how the season plays out. VT wins on Saturday, you'll have people praising MY as the coach of the century for whatever adjustments he made, when in reality, it would most likely be the product of good shooting from VT, poor shooting from FSU and the players simply taking care of the ball better than they did last night.
