I do have a perspective that the ACC style of football not exciting
ACC, even before expansion was finesse, and excessive penalties (also in basketball). It made for 'polite' football, for the tea and crumpets set. I always thought the big east football did have some legs, it played real hard hitting tough football, with alot of rivals WVU, VT, PITT, Miami, BC and Cuse and it was a slug fest. Really good tough football, That was good football, and it threaten the ACC, so the best way is expansion and go after the Big east. The first run and that fiasco got Miami, VT and BC in. I claim once these schools got in, they adapted the ACC style and basically neutered the rough hard hitting, smack talk that made the football good.
I think its funny, the new ACC might be reborn with smash mouth Miami, with the open checkbook, VT going back to blue collar football first, Pitt being Pitt and BC being BC. and just knocking the crap out of the blue bloods. (and maybe add WVU and really you got the big east back. and the rest of the ACC can go play lacrosse.
