Swofford gets blamed for the demise of Miami and FSU football. The whole

leverage the conference had with TV was around those two in 2003 with their multiple National Championships. They both dropped like a rock off of a cliff. If you don't get that, you haven't negotiated much. By the way, Miami blew it with signing a 25 years deal with Dolphin Stadium... even Shalala tried later to get out of it and it was her deal. Florida State and Virginia Tech kept both of their coaches 5 years too long. They both should have hired a coach while they were on top. I love Frank and he is one of my favorite people to ever have been on the planet, but he stuck around for his assistant coaches and Bobby just did not want to let go.

It's going to interesting when Saban leaves Alabama, the next coach is going to hear over and over and over and over again, he's no Nick Saban. Actually the next several head coaches is likely. Bear left in the early 80's and they did not find Saban for 20+ years. Even when Stallings won a Natiional Championship, they said, he's not Bear!
