That majority is solely coming from Parents of Students who are
already in school. If your kid is going, of course you'd want to make it a full day. They are in school so you don't have to provide childcare for them. Look at every other metric. Virtual Learners, Teachers, Students and other school staff do not want to change. If this was back in December, I'd get it. Half a year makes a difference. Doing the last 9 weeks just doesn't make sense to me, particularly the last 9 weeks with standardized testing.
Also, the school boards argument was that they needed to get kids back in school. uhh they've been going to school the entire year. It was a flimsy argument, supported by parents of kids who are already in-person learning.
Edit: Also, that 57% number you reference does NOT include student input, and does include input from the community (who is that?). Including students, the majority was 50.5% No. [Post edited by hoosnowahokie at 02/24/2021 11:00AM]
