Being sick in college is one of the unpleasant but necessary "adulting"

moments of life. No mom to fluff your pillows or get you a bowl of chicken noodle soup. You head hurts, you feel like crap, but you know you have a test next week and you really need to be in class. Your roommates consolation is "dude, stay away from me, you better not get me sick".

I remember that from my first October in Blacksburg when the weather turned.

The faulty belief in sending everyone home is that covid-19 can just be avoided. The virus is everywhere, particularly in Virginia. We might as well let nature run its course, and let our college students learn to do important work when they feel like crap. That is the way life works.
