The entire risk mitigation/avoidance is a crap shoot....
the problem is somewhere along the line someone somewhere has to incur the risk. Problem is we keep hammering people think of X community, however that is, but we are making decisions in a silo. School systems are deciding for teachers, etc. but not the greater community.
Pulling at your thread, we are a dual income household in Loudoun County. My wife's company is expecting her to be back at work at the end of August. We are offered either full virtual (what teachers want) or hybrid two days a week. Guess what we will be sending our kids to child care the "off" days. Not sure how mixing my kids with other kids from other schools in the area really reduces overall risk to the community, but it makes Loudoun County Public School system feel like they are doing the right thing. So in our situation, the child care facilities in our area will get the brunt of the risk.
The ONLY thing we have done is cancel physical interactions with elderly people in our family, except for my parents who have decided to come to our big family beach get together in two weeks.
