You're probably better off consulting a lawyer.
I think they have to be fairly specific with regards to what they cover...and states can vary with regards to how they treat them. Regardless if you get one or not, it might not be a bad idea to look into an umbrella liability policy. State Farm can add that to your existing coverage for really very little and it's really not bad to have for any situation.
