It would be interesting to see what the Committee would do

if it was between ACC Champion Duke 13-0 and Big Ten Champion Ohio State 12-1 for the 4th spot in the Playoffs. If the ACC was down and Duke played a relatively soft OOC, then it may be tough for the Committee to give the nod to Duke. FWIW I think the ACC considers Army and Navy to be P5 opponents, so it isn't unrealistic to think that Duke could schedule either team to satisfy the P5 requirement and that team ends up being bad that season.

Let's be honest here, teams typically don't schedule games against either school because they think they are a quality opponent that will improve their SOS. They schedule them because they can easily check off the P5 box while scheduling cupcakes for the remaining OOC games and probably get a W out of it. Oddly enough I don't think the ACC considers Air Force to be a P5 opponent for whatever reason.
