Even if VT or a non-blue blood P5 program went 13-0

I could see that undefeated team get left out of the Playoff to a 1 loss blue blood P5 champion or an undefeated Notre Dame (maybe even a 1 loss Notre Dame in some cases). Unfortunately, the Playoffs are more about making sure all 4 teams will sellout both stadiums in the 2 week period and that all 3 games generate high ratings.

As much as I would like to think an undefeated Wazzou (Pac-12 Champion) or an undefeated Wake (ACC Champion) would get to play in the Playoff, I am not sure the Committee do it at the expense of relegating a 1 loss blue blood P5 champion or a 1 loss Notre Dame to a NYD6 bowl game.
