Beautiful bike BTW--just went to Trek's site to take a gander

Most of the stuff posted by others is correct, my additional 2 cents:

-Loosen tension (EDGEMAN)
-Learn to apply force through the majority of the pedal stroke (BusLoadaBozos), particularly pulling with the hamstrings near the bottom of the stroke--imagine scraping shiRt off your sneakers on the curb
-Practice clipping and unclipping ('lag), and unclip at the bottom of the stroke with your leg extended to reduce torque on your knee--also unclip sooner rather than later--don't wait until you're nearly stopped
-Assume you had a bike fit that came with the bike?
