The trick is to use the full circular motion & not to rely on your quads.


Most people who start biking rely on their quads to pump down on the pedals similar to walking up stairs. With clips you want to use the entire motion, to pull the pedal up and to push it out. You want to emphasize high RPMs by using your gears. 120 to 160 RPMs is a good speed depending on the terrain.
