if the Big 12 expanded to 12. The question asked was would those 2 schools increase payouts per team or decrease payouts. A decreased payout means the Big 12 stays at 10. It looks like the Big 12 will have to get their TV network like the B1G, Pac-12, and SEC if they want to expand. As things are right now, I can't see their present TV deal keeping the payouts the same (or even slightly higher) with the addition of BYU and Cincinnati. I see every Big 12 member taking a payout cut if they expand to 12.

If the big 12 gets their own TV network, they'd be wise to look at Florida and California expansion since those 2 states bring in the most cable and satellite viewers. BYU has a national audience but I think San Diego State might actually bring in more TV viewers if the Big 12 Network can get into the San Diego and LA regions. Adding either Central Florida or South Florida brings in the Tampa-Orlando TV markets and maybe the entire state if one of those football programs becomes very successful. It seems like some Big 12 schools regret taking West Virginia over Louisville or even Cincinnati.
