just based on travel. The vibe I got from the article was that some Big 12 members want westward expansion but giving WVU a nearby partner seems to be a priority if they go to 12. Like you said, there are no attractive nearby partners near WVU that would increase the TV payout.

I do remember Oklahoma or some other Big 12 member wishing they would've taken Louisville instead of WVU after UL won the NCAA men's basketball championship, beat #3 Florida in the Sugar Bowl, and made it to the College World Series.
