That may be. Or maybe it is just that no one has performed such a study.


However, even if one were to perform such a study, as you mention, I think there would potentially be a lot of factors involved, which may make it difficult to correlate types of regular season schedules with post-season success. I also agree with you that some teams may benefit (from a developmental perspective) from an easier schedule. I think scheduling is an area where the coach's ability to understand what the team needs to develop is very important (I guess that is kind of obvious).
