Maybe so, but like I said earlier if Oklahoma makes it to the CWS

and VT does not, then it would be unfair to conclude that the lack of 3-game series helped Oklahoma and playing the additional 3-game series hurt VT. Even if both schools make it to the CWS, then I'm not sure people can draw any conclusion one way or another. This may be a case where people are trying to make connections even though no connection may exist. If there is any connection, then it may be a team specific one.
