Ed O'Bannon started the NIL movement, not DC

That was 8 years ago. Stipends are determined by location and cost of living, not DC. State politics probably play a bigger role in college athletics than federal politics.

I realize that Stech won't change his views on DC and that's fine with me. I just feel that the ACC has a revenue gap problem due to its lack of large state universities and football first schools. It's no secret that the B1G and SEC would love to pick off the ACC's large state universities. You don't hear the SEC or B1G wanting to invite BC, Wake or Syracuse. That's why I feel that FSU, Georgia Tech, Clemson, UNC, NC State, UVA and Virginia Tech will be fine "if" the ACC ever implodes. I feel that Miami and Duke (mainly because of their rich basketball tradition) will find a spot too. Louisville, Syracuse and Pitt will be on edge. Wake and BC are in trouble.

I don't really care where the ACC headquarters is located. Heck, the A-10's headquarters are in Newport News. If I were in charge of the ACC, Charlotte would seem like the logical location. I have no problem if the ACC headquarters were in Chantilly or Alexandria, but I feel that placing the headquarters there would be more for show than anything else. The other four Power 5 conferences would still have their lobbyists there 24/7. I also don't understand why some feel that placing the ACC headquarters in Charlotte isn't forward thinking and 'living in the past'. I would ask those same people why tens of millions of Northeasterners and Midwesterners have moved South in the past 50 years to relocate their businesses or find better jobs.
