That has nothing to do with headquarters location.


The decision makers from the B1G and SEC will succeed wherever they meet. They have a marketing advantage mainly because their conferences are made up of football first large state universities. The ACC needs more of them, but unfortunately there aren't any available (maybe WVU?). Most of those decisions were made a long time ago and the B1G and especially the SEC have made the best ones the past decade. SEC: Texas A&M, Mizzou, Texas and Oklahoma. BIG: Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers (two of the B1G's three additions are weak compared to the SEC's). See what all those schools have in common. Only the ACC's addition of Virginia Tech would qualify for the B1G and SEC model. Maybe Louisville and Pittsburgh would come close.
