Those issues affect all D-1 schools, not just the P-5


I'm sure lobbyists pushed all those issues. I just don't think by simply having the ACC headquarters inside the beltway will give the ACC any more of an advantage than being in Charlotte or Charlottesville. The ACC, like all the other conferences, needs to have hardworking and persuasive lobbyists to push their conference's interests. The ACC can place an office in NOVA or DC, like Tech operates a college in Alexandria. The ACC doesn't need the entire headquarters there. The Big Ten put at satellite office in New York. 11 of the 15 ACC schools would be within eight hours drive from Charlotte. 8 schools would be within 4 hours. Charlotte is the best site for the ACC Football Championship game.
