What I'm trying to wrap my head around is once conference play begins is it

even possible to change the narrative that your conference stinks? Laying aside early season out of conference play, is it possible to know how the ACC really stacks up against other conferences right now at this moment? I see 2 SEC teams play that are, say 5th and 6th in the conference and I'm told they're both tournament teams. I see 5th and 6th ACC teams play and I'm told they're bubble teams. Once you close off out of conference competition do we really know? Granted, this narrative worked in favor of the ACC for decades.
