Alright electricians. I need some help. Got my basement lights hung and

wired, just need to get them powered up. I've done this before but I'm now blanking and think I'm missing something key (can't find the right diagram online but I also could not be using the right search terms). Here's the setup:

Outlet in my storage room is where I'm getting the power from. Outlet is powered. I have Romex from that receptacle to the light switch receptacle (not connected yet on either end yet, just hanging there). I then have Romex from the light switch receptacle (not connected at light switch) to the 5 lights. The lights are all connected.

The switch requires a neutral wire. I can't just connect all wires from the outlet to the switch can I? I feel like I've done that before and it kept tripping. Hurley01 told me what to do at that point but I've forgotten and can't get a hold of him.

On the outlet side, what connects to the outlet, what needs to be nutted (yup, typing that on the Lounge) together and on the switch side is it just a matter of connecting the white, black, ground?
