First like others have said, there is dead weight that needs to leave. So the portal is not always a bad thing. Second, every team loses players. Some good ones and some non factors. Its the new world order. I have been amazed at how many people say VT lost x number os players therefore its a catastrophe. All without any concept of a) who the players were b) that other schools lose players too and c) who we added in the portal. As for the latter I think we've had a net gain over the last few years as far as talent.

For sure we will probably lose more that most schools this year with a coaching change. Part of the process.
